Fybe Plans for New Fiber Connectivity Builds in Northampton

AULANDER, N.C. – Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Electric Cooperative, confirms its continuation of expanding services in East Northampton County. The expansion brings fiber internet to over 4,033 homes and businesses in this community.

“Accessible internet access is not a luxury, it’s an essential tool,” said Bo Coughlin, COO of Fybe. “We are thrilled to extend high-speed fiber internet services to every corner of the community.”

Each new construction includes Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology, commonly known as fiber internet. These broadband connections can reach speeds up to 1 Gbps and use a fiber-optic cable, which can send data as fast as about 70% of the speed of light. In addition, fiber-optic cables are not as susceptible to severe weather conditions as other types of traditional cables, which helps minimize outages and resists electrical interference effectively.

Fybe offers a variety of internet speed options to best serve the needs and budgets of local residents and businesses. The provider is committed to positioning the community for success when it comes to reliable connectivity for work, school, telehealth and beyond.
