Edenton, N.C. Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Cooperative, confirms its expansion of services to Edenton, North Carolina. The expansion brings fiber internet to over 4,300 homes and businesses in this community.

“The town of Edenton is excited to welcome Fybe and its services into our community,” said W. Hackney “Hack” High, Jr., Edenton town councilman. “Access to high-speed internet and technology, especially for our low-income families, will enable us to continue achieving great things.”

Each new construction includes Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology, commonly known as fiber internet. With speeds up to 1 Gbps, this technology uses lightning-fast fiber-optic cables that transmit data at about 70% of the speed of light. The connections also minimize outages and resist electrical interference, ensuring a stable internet experience, even during severe weather.

“Technology and internet use are part of everyday life,” said Bo Coughlin, COO of Fybe. “Therefore, it is important to us that every community has fair and equal access to high-speed internet no matter its location. We will always be looking for ways to help local areas thrive.”

Fybe offers a variety of internet speed options to best serve the needs and budgets of local residents and businesses. The provider is committed to positioning the community for success when it comes to reliable connectivity for work, school, telehealth, and beyond.
