Finance & Strategy Manager
As the Finance and Strategy Manager of Fybe, Kent is responsible for all financial aspects of the business as well as supporting strategy development and execution. With Fybe's ambitious deployment of fiber to the premise in rural northeast North Carolina, he is instrumental in expanding the business while guiding it from start-up mode to sustained profitability.
Kent began his career at Caterpillar, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in Finance and Accounting. Most recently, Kent was CFO of Caterpillar’s Forestry Division, helping transform a business that had never made money to steady profitability. He implemented a Shareholder Value Added (SVA) metric at the Forestry Division and drove a cultural transformation to embed an SVA focus throughout the business. In other roles at Caterpillar, Kent was instrumental in optimizing the company’s manufacturing footprint, executing mergers and acquisitions, and leading a tax optimization project. He also gained significant global business experience at Caterpillar, including a four-year assignment working in Europe and extensive international travel.
After Caterpillar, Kent spent 3 years as a finance and business consultant, providing value adding solutions to a leading technology company and helping the company transform and improve key business processes.
Kent is a Certified Management Accountant and earned a bachelors degree in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration.
